The excursion included an hour-and-a-half boat ride from Ventura Harbor to the island and a guided hike of the Nature Conservancy's Interpretive Trail, which is located on a beautifully preserved, protected part of the island. The excursion gave VIP members an opportunity to spend time as a team; to support each other in the common goal of a 6-mile round trip rugged hike along often steep and challenging terrain; and to learn more about how private companies, environmental organizations and government organizations work together to preserve open spaces.
